Astra Raksell
There is no species classification for Astra Raksell. Not really. The closest anyone has gotten is "Aurorian" — a term that exists more as a placeholder than an answer, a question mark dressed up as a category.
Appearance
Astra has a striking and highly distinct physical presence. Vibrant purple hair worn in a messy high ponytail with a sweeping orange underlayer. Striking heterochromia — one bright blue eye, one deep yellow. Their most unmistakable trait is their right arm: from the shoulder down, the limb is entirely composed of luminous, uncontained Aurora energy, constantly emitting plasma-like purple smoke that drifts lazily and inevitably, the visual confirmation that this arm was never going to pass for normal.
Civilian Form
In their standard, day-to-day attire, Astra leans into a practical, sporty, and tomboyish aesthetic. They wear a long, open black jacket featuring thick blue and white stripes on the sleeves and large, yellow-outlined stars decorating the front and back. Underneath the jacket, they wear a short-sleeved white crop top with a blue underlayer, paired with high-waisted black shorts that share the yellow star motif. Their shorts are held together by a black belt featuring their "Aurora Core" as a four-pointed star buckle. Accessories include black gloves with white fingers, black leg warmers, and high-top sneakers in a matching black, white, and yellow color scheme. A pair of yellow-tinted glasses usually rests pushed up on their forehead.
Battle Form
When entering combat and activating the Aurora Core, Astra undergoes a magical transformation into a heavily armored, tactical bodysuit. The civilian clothing is replaced by a sleek, form-fitting black suit accented with white and blue paneling. The torso features a white armored chestplate centered around a glowing, stylized four-pointed star emblem. The lower half is heavily protected by black and white armored leg plating with yellow diamond accents and matching sabatons. In this state, Astra's face is largely obscured by a prominent, glowing golden star-shaped visor. Most notably, the right arm sheds all clothing or containment, allowing the pure, undiluted purple Aurora energy to fully manifest, while the left arm is equipped with a sleek black, white, and yellow armored gauntlet.
Personality
Astra is a genuine, tomboyish ray of sunshine with a stubborn streak and wild gremlin energy. Confident but not loud, they are driven by an inexhaustible curiosity about the universe. They operate on logic and evidence, but when the mood strikes, they commit to their wild ideas 100%. Above all, Astra is fiercely protective of their priorities—namely, making sure there is always chocolate and coffee within arm's reach.
- Astra is highly friendly and exceptionally open when it comes to trust.
- They are incredibly calm and not hot-headed at all.
- Their demeanor leans heavily toward playful rather than serious, accompanied by a teasing sense of humor.
- They are bold, slightly impulsive, and possess an idealistic sense of morality.
- When it comes to decision-making, they lean slightly more toward logic than emotion.
Biography
Origin
Astra wasn't born, but willed into existence from raw "Aurora" energy—the elemental combination of all ancient magical forces. They woke up in a sealed capsule with zero personal history. Their only memory is a vague, persistent dream of a platinum-blue-haired woman they call "mother" who looked at them with hope. With no map or instructions—just a lingering sense of unfinished business—Astra picked up a sword and blaster and went out into the universe.
Career
Astra started out as a bounty hunter, tackling messy situations and political drama across the galaxy. Eventually, the mercenary life gave way to their true calling: being a full-time "Super Space Adventurer." They now travel the universe, getting involved wherever the wind takes them, driven by a thirst for adventure they will likely never grow out of.
Millennia in and still genuinely excited about what's around the next corner.
Skills & Abilities
- Raw Aurora Physiology — Astra is made of unrefined, elementless magic. Technically stronger than anything in the universe, they operate as a high-speed "glass cannon"—boasting terrible but miraculously functional luck that allows them to walk away from impossible situations unscathed.
- Uncontained Right Arm — From the shoulder down, Astra's right arm is luminous purple and constantly emits plasma-like smoke. Operating outside normal physical rules, the arm can stretch, shapeshift, and absorb or release vast amounts of energy.
- Gift Resonance — Because Astra is the raw source of magic, Gift users sense them as an ancient, overwhelming presence. Earth-born Gift users feel this the most, though Astra simply waves it off as their own "personal charm."
- Primordial Force Manipulation — Because "Aurora" is the collapsed, elementless combination of all ancient magical forces, Astra wields magic in its rawest, most volatile state. Instead of casting structured spells like modern Gift users, they unleash overwhelming, shapeless force.
- Ergokinetic Weapon Proficiency — Astra's signature weapons—the sword Claiomh Solais, the blaster Failnaught, and the energy blade Mac an Luin—are not standard gear. They are solid constructs materialized directly from the same uncontained Aurora energy that makes up Astra's right arm.
- Transformational Armor — By activating the "Aurora Core" belt buckle, Astra can instantly materialize a tactical combat bodysuit and armor. This acts as a "Powered Form," stripping away the civilian containment on their right arm and optimizing their body for high-threat environments.
- Supernatural Speed — Operating as a definitive glass cannon, Astra’s survival relies entirely on movement. They possess immense, blistering speed that allows them to blitz enemies, evade massive area-of-effect attacks, and outmaneuver much larger, heavily armored monsters.
- Improbable Survival (or Bizarre Luck) — Astra has statistically terrible luck, which explains why a simple bounty or space trip always escalates into a messy, colossal crisis. However, this is countered by an uncanny ability to walk out of apocalyptic, mathematically impossible situations entirely unscathed.
- Indomitable Will — The absolute refusal to break, yield, or surrender, regardless of how insurmountable or mathematically impossible the odds might be.
Weapons
- Aurora Core — A belt buckle that triggers their combat transformation. It materializes a practical bodysuit and armor while entirely shedding the containment on their right arm, unleashing maximum, undiluted Aurora power.
- Claiomh Solais — Physical sword forged from the same source as the arm.
- Failnaught — Blaster, same origin.
- Mac an Luin — Energy blade materialized directly from the right arm.
Operator's Code
Six rules. Non-negotiable. Written down because some things need to be written down.

"Large monsters are personal. Charge accordingly, or don't take it at all."
"Chocolate first, everything else second."
"Rest as hard as you move. A body running on empty isn't brave, it's just broken."
"Find the thermal somewhere. Every planet's got one if you look hard enough."
"Leave every place better than you found it. Or at least try. Explosions happen."

Trivia
- The Uncanny Recognition — Humans across the galaxy look at Astra like they recognize them. No records exist that predate their waking. Nobody can explain it. Astra attributes it to personal charm and possibly the arm.
- Left-handed — Everything. Coffee, sword, chocolate, all of it.
- Glass cannon — Speed 100, Magic 95, Defense 30, Luck 10. The math is terrifying and yet here they are.
- The arm does not come off — It has been asked.
